Upcoming rural ecotourism park in Kutlehar village : Virender Kanwar : The Tribune India

Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar today laid the foundation stone for a rural ecotourism park in Sohari village of Kutlehar Assembly Segment for which Rs 2.4 crore will be spent .

Speaking on the occasion, Kanwar said the park would have basic tourist infrastructure such as parking, gift shops and restrooms, in addition to seats. The goal of completing it within the next two months has been set. He said that over the past four and a half years, tourism infrastructure has been enhanced in the Kutlehar Assembly segment to attract more tourists and increase the income of locals.

The minister said that Kutlehar has unique scenic beauty like Gobind Sagar Lake, dense forests and mountain ranges, but the tourism potential has remained untapped. He said two paragliding sites have been identified and notified by the state government, while a notification to undertake water sports activities in Gobind Sagar Lake has also been made.

He said hiking trails have been laid in the forest areas and a path leading to the ancient fortress atop the Sola Singi Dhaar mountain range has been cleared for tourists. He said angling shacks, equipped with paraphernalia used in the sport of fishing, have been constructed at places near the shores of Gobind Sagar Lake.

Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma was also present on the occasion.
