Resolution presented to the United States House to recognize the historical and religious significance of Diwali: The Tribune India

Indo-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi presented a resolution to the United States Congress recognizing the religious and historical significance of Diwali, the festival of lights.
âFor Sikhs, Jains and Hindus here in the United States and around the world, Diwali is a time of gratitude as well as a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil,â Krishnamoorthi said. after presenting the resolution in the US House of Representatives.
Recognizing the historical and religious significance of Diwali, the resolution expresses its deepest respect for American Indians and the Indian diaspora across the world on this important occasion, he said.
âI am proud to present this bipartisan resolution to recognize the enormous religious, cultural and historical significance of Diwali,â Krishnamoorthi said.
âAs we celebrate another Diwali during the pandemic, I hope we begin to see the light conquer the darkness of the world. I wish a happy and safe Diwali to all families who gather with their loved ones to light lamps in their homes and to pray for good health and peace for all, âhe said. PTI
