Rohno Kalan (Khanna), December 27
Residents of Rohno Kalan village in Khanna sub-district were delighted to see Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi inaugurate intelligent panchayat ghar, women’s park, sathh and general park, in addition to his interactions with them .
However, visitors from various parts of the region were disappointed as their main demands for Khanna to be upgraded as a district and as a medical school went unheeded.
“The chief minister did not even make passing remarks on our demands during his speech,” the villagers said. Channi said goodbye to people after his speech at the village stadium.
During the rally organized in support of the likely candidate of Congress and Cabinet Minister Gurkirat Singh Kotli, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the 10th Sikh Master Guru Gobind Singh Chaar Sahibzadas and recalled the sacrifice of the former CM of the late Punjab Beant Singh Kotli, who had sacrificed his life to fight terrorism in the border state.
“It was only after the government, led by then-chief minister Beant Singh, cracked down on terrorism with an iron fist that political leaders began to participate in various events, if not anyone. did not dare to go out for fear of the extremists, “Channi said, adding that the Kotli family had to pay a heavy price to restore normalcy to the state.
Channi claimed that during his 100-day tenure as chief minister, he had accomplished an equal amount of work that has remained pending over the past four and a half years.
Cabinet Minister Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh Boparai and Payal Lakhvir Singh Lakha MP were among others who addressed the assembly.
