Obituaries of Jean Andejeski (1929 – 2022) – Belmont Village, IL

Jean Marie Andejeski, 92, died on March 23, 2022 surrounded by his family. A resident of Belmont Village, Buffalo Grove, formerly of Arlington Heights, Jean was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Bourke Van Houten Sr. and Yvonne (Bienvenu) Van Houten on April 10, 1929. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Andejeski Sr.; beloved mother of Ralph E. Jr, John, Daniel (Catherine), Julie (Jeffrey) Humphrey, Katherine (John) Burge, Michael (Maribel), Gerard, Gregory (Toshie) and the late Yvonne Andejeski; cherished grandmother of Sarah, Nicole (Sam) Engle, Jack (fiancé Carly Evans), Jared, Matthew (Henry Qian), Megan (Luke) Moses, Jason (fiancé Meghan Connor), Sean, Michael Jr., Kenneth, Jacob and Aya; great-grandmother of Elka, Lyla, Andrew, Harper, Kendall, Barrett and Callie and dear sister of John (Sallie) Van Houten and the late William Van Houten. Jean was loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for her wonderful cooking and baking. A creative spirit, Jean was a superior seamstress in all needlework arts. A little woman, Jean was a force of nature and her children inherited her warmth, her kindness and her compassion for all. Jean was passionate about her nursing career, earning her Registered Nurse (RN) from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Covington Kentucky in 1953, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Elmhurst College (Class of 1981), and a Master of Science nurses from RUSH University (Class of 83). Jean was a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and a certified oncology nurse. During his career, Jean has managed inpatient oncology units, outpatient oncology clinics, and hospices for most hospitals in the greater Chicago area. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said Tuesday, March 29 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint-Michel-Archange Cemetery.
