Gurugram, February 13

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today launched the Jal Suraksha Sunishchitikaran Bandh Pariyojana at Pathkhori village of Firozpur Jhirka in Nuh district.

Calling dams the only way to conserve water, Khattar said the dam would help in the use of the Aravallis spring water which is lost.

The project is part of the Aspirational District Transformation program and the CM sought public participation to make it a success.

With this project, the drinking water and irrigation needs of nine villages in the district will be met. With the construction of this dam, 224 hectares meters of water will be stored. It will become a great reservoir and its direct benefit will be given to the common man.

The Chief Minister said that the water table in this area is very low and the water has become saline. So, Ranney Well Scheme of Rs 263 crore has been launched here to overcome water scarcity in this region.

The Mewat Canal is under construction with a capacity of 200 cusecs where water will be taken from the Yamuna River.

Meanwhile, Khattar said on Sunday that his government would set up hospitals with a capacity of 200 beds each in every district of the state to provide better and affordable health care to its residents.

He was speaking at the cornerstone laying ceremony of the 500-bed hospital project for Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) beneficiaries at Manesar here.

Labor constitutes a large part of society and plays an important role in development, especially in construction works. A healthy workforce is a sign of developing industries, Khattar said. — & PTI
