Are Chinese 300B Tubes Good? Shu Guang has been manufacturing vacuum tubes for decades. The quality of their tubes has been improving while keeping prices low. Some people say that Chinese 300B tubes are “average” (perhaps due to their low price). However, they are genuine 300B tubes and sound as good as other 300B tubes from different brands, but at a lower price. If the amplifier circuit is well-designed and uses high-quality components, the results will be very good. I use a 6SJ7 (in pentode mode) to drive a 300B (SE), and the sound is excellent.
