Bhasan Char to acquire five-star hotel to accommodate UN officials
A shopping center is also under construction
A five-star hotel is being built in Bhasan Char, off the coast of Noakhali district, with various modern facilities, officials said.
As Bhasan Char is home to thousands of Rohingya, the hotel will provide accommodation for United Nations (UN) officials working alongside Bangladesh to help refugees, said Moazzem Hossain, additional commissioner of the Bhasan Char Refugee, Relief and Repatriation Commissioner ( RRRC).
The five-star hotel includes a pool, gym, tennis courts, restaurants and laundry rooms, Bangla Tribune reports.
As part of the initiative, two more buildings and a shopping center named “Island Mall” are currently under construction. There will also be an artificial lake for visitors to enjoy boating in their free time.
