NEW DELHI, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — At least four persons died after being run over by a passenger train in India’s southern state of Kerala on Saturday, confirmed an Indian Railways official over phone.
The incident occurred near Palakkad area. The train “Kerala Express” that runs between New Delhi and Kerala’s capital city Thiruvananthapuram, ran over them near the Shoranur railway station.
All the deceased were sanitation workers and were clearing a garbage dump near the railway track, added the official. While the dead bodies of three persons were recovered from the spot, efforts were being made to find the fourth. ■
