A kisan mela would be organized by the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Nag Kalan village near here on September 2.

The event aims to provide information on technical know-how, improved seed varieties and agricultural practices.

However, for the past two years, the mela has been held virtually due to the Covid pandemic. KVK officials said UPA experts will answer farmers’ questions in a special question-and-answer session during the event.

The district extension officer, Dr Narinderpal Singh, said stalls would be set up by different progressive farmers, self-help groups, university departments and private entrepreneurs where agriculture-related machinery and products would be displayed.

He said preparations for the event were underway and the KVK demonstration plots would be a special attraction for farmers as the practical results of the various ongoing field trials would be exhibited.
